# Define specific design categories per product or product view

Learn [basics about design elements and how to add them to Fancy Product Designer](https://support.fancyproductdesigner.com/support/solutions/articles/13000006551), add them to categories, and enable specific settings for design categories or individual designs first.

After adding design elements they will be available for all your customizable products (at least as long as you do not disable the Design Module for a specific product view or an entire UI layout)

You might want to avoid offering "beach" design elements on your "Christmas card" products. There are two levels to restrict the range of available design elements for your customers.

1. Select design categories per product
2. Select design categories per product view

**1. Select design categories per product**

Go to your WooCommerce product and click [Individual Product Settings](http://support.fancyproductdesigner.com/support/solutions/articles/5000591587-main-and-individual-product-settings) > General > Design Categories

**2. Select design categories per product view**

Go to Product Builder > choose product view > View Options > Design Categories

If you limit the design categories on a product level AND view level the respective intersection is valid, therefore it might be possible that no design category is listed. It's recommended to limit the designs either on a view or product perspective.

**Product**: flags, season, sport

**View**: holidays
