# How do I delete a class?

This video walks you through the steps to delete a class in our system. First, you need to delete all essays associated with the class, which we demonstrate using a sample class. We also show how to select multiple essays at once for easier deletion. Please make sure to confirm the deletion, as it is a permanent action.

**Step 1:** Click on **Teaching**, and then click on **Classes** from the dropdown.

**Step 2:** Click on the name of the class you would like to delete.

**Step 3:** In order to delete the the class, you must delete the essays in the class first. Click on the checkbox beside **Status** to select all of the essays in the class.

Then, click on the **Delete** button to delete all of the essays selected.

**Step 4:** A confirmation modal will pop up asking you to confirm you want to delete the selected essays. Click the **Yes, delete** button to confirm.

**Step 5:** Once all the essays have been deleted, the **Delete** button for the class will become available, which you can then click.

**Step 6:** You should see the feedback that the class was successfully deleted. It will no longer appear in your library of classes.
