# How do I delete a class?

This video walks you through the steps to delete a class in our system. First, you need to delete all essays associated with the class, which we demonstrate using a sample class. We also show how to select multiple essays at once for easier deletion. Please make sure to confirm the deletion, as it is a permanent action.

****Step 1:**** Click on ****Teaching****, and then click on ****Classes**** from the dropdown.

****Step 2:**** Click on the name of the class you would like to delete.

****Step 3:**** In order to delete the the class, you must delete the essays in the class first. Click on the checkbox beside ****Status**** to select all of the essays in the class.

Then, click on the ****Delete**** button to delete all of the essays selected.

****Step 4:**** A confirmation modal will pop up asking you to confirm you want to delete the selected essays. Click the ****Yes, delete**** button to confirm.

****Step 5:**** Once all the essays have been deleted, the ****Delete**** button for the class will become available, which you can then click.

****Step 6:**** You should see the feedback that the class was successfully deleted. It will no longer appear in your library of classes.
