# How to block the chat for specific IPs

Crisp allows you to block the chatbox for some IPs, to prevent them from messaging you.

****Here is how to proceed:****

* Go to your [Crisp dashboard](https://app.crisp.chat)
* Head over to the ****Settings**** from the bottom-left icon
* Navigate to ****Settings > Chatbox Settings > Chatbox Restrictions****
* Click on the ****Add a blocked IP**** button

|| We accept both IPv4 and IPv6 and CIDR notation
---

****Here are a few examples:****

* `` `44.192.61.10` `` will hide the chatbox only for this IPv4
* `` `2607:f0d0:1002:51::4` `` will hide the chatbox only for this IPv6
* `` `44.192.61.10/24` `` will hide the chatbox only for all IPs from 44.192.61.1 to 44.192.61.1254

| You can clear (unblock) all previously blocked IPs and email address from the same menu, by hitting the "Clear all Blocked Rules" red button.
