# What is the difference between a photo shoot and an appointment?

****Fotostudio primarily works with the use of shoots****, but you can also create appointments.

****A shoot**** allows you to create a record with a date, a location, a payment plan, a workflow, a quote, invoices, a contract, etc.

****An appointment**** does not create a record. You will add an appointment to your agenda with a date and a location, and you can automatically send a reminder email to your client 24 hours before the appointment.
