How to fill in product information

Learn more about each field to fill up when creating a new product:


  • *Code:* Each product in Handy must have a unique code that distinguishes it from the rest. You can use any code you want, either the one you use in your administrative system or create a new one. For example, PROD001, MIA123. The code can have letters or numbers. The product's code is a *mandatory* field.
  • *Description:* The product's regular name. For example, medium red t-shirt. The product's description is a *mandatory* field.
  • *Family:* Groups products together. It can be the brand, the line, or whatever makes sense to you and your operation. The product's family is a *mandatory* field.
  • *Category:* Also groups products together, and helps you analyze your sales.
  • *Price*: The product's regular price to the general public.
  • *Bar code:* The number that corresponds to the product's bar code.
  • *Details:* Any additional comments about your product.
  • *Enabled:* If the product is enabled, you can sell it. If the product is disabled, your sales staff won't see it, and it won't be added to orders. In Handy products are *NOT DELETED*, they're only disabled. You'll write YES for enabled and NO for disabled.
  • *Apply discounts:* It determines whether or not a product accepts a discount you've assigned to a client. Write YES or NO, depending on your needs.
  • *Existence:* The product's availability in the warehouse.
  • *Taxes:* One product can have up to two taxes. The taxes available correspond to each country.
  • *Unit of measurement*: Each product can have its own unit of measurement. You can create your own or modify existing ones. Learn more about this here: units of measurement.
