Monitors in GroupAlarm allow you to graphically display a wide variety of information about your organization. This is particularly helpful if you want to keep a constant eye on specific data. A monitor created with GroupAlarm can then be integrated into external devices, such as a screen in your equipment room, in just a few steps.
A monitor consists of various individually configurable panels that can be arranged via drag and drop. Details about the individual panels can be found here .
💡 The Alarm Monitor module is an optional extension of GroupAlarm and can be activated under Admin ⇾ Extensions.
Add monitor
1️⃣ To create a new monitor, click on the icon above MONITOR ANLEGEN. On the following page, you can assign a name to the monitor for later identification.
2️⃣ After creating the monitor, it will be listed in the monitor overview with the corresponding name. The pencil icon on the right allows you to edit and configure the monitor to your liking. The trash can icon lets you delete a monitor you no longer need.
💡 Deleting a monitor is irreversible.
Edit monitor
When you edit a monitor, you will first see an overview of the individual areas and general settings of a monitor.
Alarm view
The alarm view is the primary view of the monitor, which is used especially when there are active, open alarms.
The alarm view can be configured using the individual panels .Monitor bearbeiten
💡 Details on how to edit the monitor can be found here .
The alarm view always displays the data from the last alarm. Alternatively, a split-screen view of the monitor can be configured. This split-screen view always displays the last four alarms in separate areas. However, due to the division, these areas offer less space for panels overall than the single-screen view.
Sleep mode
The monitor's sleep mode allows you to configure a view that activates when all open events have been closed and the defined sleep mode time window has expired. The monitor then automatically switches to the corresponding view. Here, you could, for example, display general information such as weather maps.
1️⃣ This function Ruhemodus aktivieren nachallows you to set the time window after which the monitor switches to sleep mode. If this function is deactivated, only the alarm view is displayed.
💡 The time window for sleep mode is saved via the floppy disk icon in the input field.
2️⃣ The sleep mode view is set up in the same way as the alarm view. Ruhemodus bearbeitenYou can access the corresponding screen using [button/icon - context needed]. Details on how to edit the monitor can be found here .
Gong & announcement
With Gong & Announcement, you can have the monitor play an acoustic sequence when an alarm is triggered.
1️⃣ This function Gong und Durchsage aktivierenunlocks and activates the configuration Gong und Durchsagefor the respective monitor.
2️⃣ Select a chime (Note: One chime is available at the time of release. We will add more later).
3️⃣ The following variables are available for configuring the announcement:
Gong: Plays the previously selected gong.Kurze/Lange Pause: Inserts a pause of 1 or 3 seconds into the text.Ereignis: Inserts the event name of the alarm into the text.Alarmtext: Inserts the alarm text.Adresse: Inserts the transmitted address into the text.Einheiten: Inserts the alerted units into the text.
By clicking on the corresponding fields, you add the desired variables to the announcement. These will then be labeled %VARIABLENAMEN%.
⚠️ There must be a space between each word, or more precisely, each variable, so that the text can be displayed correctly.
4️⃣ Specify the intervals at which the alarm message should be repeated. Three options are available.
Anzahl der Durchsagen: Specifies how often the announcement should be repeated.Pause: Defines the pause between repetitions.Initiale Verzögerung: Sets the delay until the first announcement after the alarm is triggered.
5️⃣ Choose a voice, pitch, and speaking speed for the announcement.
💡 The voices displayed and made available always match the organization's language. Test which voice best suits your organization.
6️⃣ Test your announcement.
⚠️ When testing the announcement, no actual alarm parameters are available. Instead, the variable names are read out, which will be replaced by the supplied parameters in the event of a real alarm.
❗️Please note that all settings will only be applied after clicking Save.
Displays
Displays offers a convenient way to access your configured monitor on an external device. To do this, on the device that will display the monitor, go to https://app.groupalarm.com/display/ . This will take you to a page with a QR code that you can scan with your smartphone. This will redirect you to GroupAlarm, where you first log in and then select the organization and the monitor you want to share. During the sharing process, you can configure the display. Options include views Normal, Splitscreendisplay modes Hell, Dunkelthe language in which the monitor should be displayed, and a name for the display for later identification. Configured displays are then listed under Displays in the monitor and can be configured there as needed.
Please use your administrative user account to log in, as monitor access is required for sharing.
As an alternative to the QR code, a so-called quick code can also be manually entered on the page https://app.groupalarm.com/de/d/config/display .
Tokens
As an alternative to using displays, you can also open the monitor via a URL containing a token. Unlike with displays, a separate login is not required to view the monitor on an external device, as you authenticate yourself to the monitor using the token.
We recommend using displays.
All available tokens are listed here. A default token is present on every monitor by default.
1️⃣ By clicking the star icon, a token's access to data from a sub-organization can be granted or revoked. This particularly affects the panel Aktive Alarme, which will then also display the sub-organization's alerts.
2️⃣ The icons on the right allow you to manage the token. The icons are described here from left to right.
The copy icon allows you to copy the token to the clipboard. From there, you can then append it to the desired URL of a monitor.
The rectangular icon with the arrow next to it allows you to directly open the monitor in different views. The available options are normal view and split-screen view, each in light or dark mode.
The URL of such an opened monitor already contains the token and can therefore be accessed directly on an external device.
You can regenerate the token using the circular arrow. All monitors using this token will then be inaccessible until a new token is inserted. This can be useful if you want to ensure that the URL containing the token is not being used by unauthorized users.
A token can be completely deleted using the red trash can icon. The same applies here as when regenerating the token: all monitors using the token will no longer be accessible.
3️⃣ When creating a new token, it can be named and access to sub-organizations can be allowed from the outset. The latter has the same effect as selecting the star symbol on an existing token.
monitor
Under the Monitor section, you can customize the monitor's name. You can also use this function Exportierento download the monitor as a .json file for import into another organization.
The export only includes the alarm view and sleep mode. No settings for the monitor itself, such as chime and announcements, connected displays, or tokens, are exported.
Panels
The following explains the functions of the various panels (sorted by category) and their configuration. Click on the corresponding panel name to access the article.
Text filter
Some panels support filtering the displayed text using regular expressions (RegEx) .
This includes, for example, the alarm message, the event, and the address.
If such a filter is configured with a valid regular expression, the result of the first capturing group is displayed in the panel. If the regular expression is invalid, the corresponding error message is displayed. If the regular expression finds no result or if no capturing group is included in the expression, only a blank result is —displayed in the panel.
In addition to the regular expression, one of three flags can also be used to influence the result. These are:
- The `m` , `multi line`,
